The Bar of Modern Art is in the old Baptist church near our office and across the street from the Columbus Art Museum. The Bar of Modern Art has the wonderful old stained glass windows from the old Baptist church and has wonderful artwork interspersed throughout the venue. In what was once the sanctuary, there is a huge video screen on which were flashed the newspaper endorsements for our candidate. The event was absolutely packed and it was a celebration of many supporters who were there when the candidacy was announced on September 1, 2005 at the statehouse and supporters picked up along the way. It was difficult to make your way through the crowd because it was so packed that evening with so many supporters and well wishers and folks who were sensing victory in the air. With just 14 days left before the election, it was clear that our candidate was pulling a commanding lead with the hearts of the people. Your correspondent wishes he could remember all the names of everyone he had a chance to talk to, but there were so many folks who have been our friends for years, who have known us outside the political arena, and friends we have met along this last year, who turned out to really support our candidate that evening. Our candidate spoke from a balcony in the bar and delivered a brilliant off-the-cuff speech and thanked the crowd and enthused them for the new day about to dawn in Ohio.

We left the event enthused with the warm feeling of our supporters and looking forward to victory.
