Akron, Ohio -- Ohio Advocates for Mental Health

Our candidate was the last speaker at the Ohio Advocates for Mental Health in downtown Akron. This is a short 15-20 minute drive from the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge. The schedule being tight, we had to rely on the fried Oreos we had at the fairgrounds as our sustenance for the evening. There were several speakers before our candidate, one of which was Tom Raga, Ken Blackwell's lieutenant governor candidate. He was actually quite personable and it was fun to talk with him. Our candidate gave the last speech of the evening, after receiving a "Come to Church" introduction by Barbara Sykes. Afterwards, our candidate stayed until the convention hall was nearly emptied of all the attendees while she took questions and spoke to people while they exited the conference room floor. As we finally made our way out to the S-10, dusk was beginning to fall in downtown Akron and the heat of the day seemed to be passed. We sped into a steamy evening drive home to Columbus.
